This site was developed as a result of our experience while trying to
use the Internet to inform ourselves on the subject of SARS. We found
that although there are a large number of online sources for information
related to SARS, they were quite scattered and a great deal of time was
required to find them. There were very few well organized and frequently
updated starting points. Search engines are of limited effectiveness due
to the very rapid developments with the information about SARS and the
inherently slow nature in which many search engines index new information.
